5. Electronic Signature Legality
Electronic signatures created through SignQuick are intended to be legally binding under applicable electronic signature laws, including:
United States: The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. 7001 et seq.) and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA)
European Union: Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 on electronic identification and trust services (eIDAS). SignQuick provides Simple Electronic Signatures (SES) and Advanced Electronic Signatures (AdES) as defined by eIDAS.
Other Jurisdictions: Electronic signatures are recognized in most countries worldwide under their respective national laws.
SignQuick generates comprehensive audit trails for each signing transaction, recording signer identity, IP address, timestamps, and consent — providing strong evidentiary support for the validity of each signature.
Note: SignQuick does not provide Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) under eIDAS and does not constitute legal advice. For transactions requiring QES or specific legal guidance, consult a qualified attorney.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SignQuick is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Electronic signatures will be accepted or enforced in any particular jurisdiction
Documents will be retained beyond the stated retention periods
IN NO EVENT SHALL SIGNQUICK BE LIABLE FOR:
Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.
7. Document Retention & Termination
Document Retention: Signed documents are retained based on your plan:
Free plan: 7 days

Pro plan: 90 days
After the retention period, documents are permanently and irreversibly deleted. You are responsible for downloading and storing your own copies of signed documents before the retention period expires.
Account Termination by You: You may close your account at any time from your Settings page or by emailing
[email protected]. We recommend downloading all documents and data before closing your account.
Account Termination by Us: We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you materially breach these Terms. We will provide 30 days' notice for termination without cause.
Effect of Termination: Upon account closure, your documents will be deleted per the retention schedule, active subscriptions will be cancelled (no pro-rata refund for the current billing period), and you may request a data export in the 30 days before final deletion.
8. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. For material changes that negatively affect paying subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.
We may update pricing for paid plans. Price changes will apply at the start of your next billing cycle and will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.
If a Service change materially reduces the functionality you are paying for, you may cancel your subscription for a pro-rata refund of the unused portion.
9. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and the member state in which SignQuick is established.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the competent courts of the EU member state where SignQuick is established.
For consumers in the EU: You retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) for alternative resolution.
